Split face and pitched face walling both start by having a sawn four sided piece of stone which is then put through a guillotine and split to the required width, this then produces stone units with a split face finish. To achieve a pitched face finish the stone is then trimmed back to make the front four edges square and true giving it a pitched face appearance.
