Rooks Quarry is situated 3 miles north of Orton in Cumbria, Blocks can be quarried up to 2.4m long however the natural bed heights are restricted to around 400mm high.

The stone colour varies as to the finish required from light grey to dark brown black.

Specification

Salterwath is a very dense and durable Carboniferous limestone. Available in both a highly polished and a honed finish providing two completely contrasting appearances making it suitable for a large range of uses. Cropped limestone also makes an excellent hard wearing walling stone.
